Use this guide to understand the adoption process before your puppy arrives, the important actions after pickup, and a few well-loved resources for the road ahead.
Before adoption
Getting ready
to choose.
Submit an application
Tell us your preferences, including a specific litter, gender, color, or generational type if you have one.
Confirm your place
When a current-litter spot or available puppy is confirmed, a non-refundable deposit of about 20% secures your place. For unborn litters, deposits are not required to join the waitlist.
Selection day
Waitlist families select around six to seven weeks of age according to waitlist order. Selection may be virtual when circumstances require it; gender and color cannot be guaranteed.
Vet check
Each puppy sees a licensed veterinarian close to pickup. You receive medical records at pickup, and every puppy is microchipped.
Pickup day
Puppies usually go home at eight or nine weeks. The remaining balance is due at pickup, with local pickup preferred and other travel options available by arrangement.
What comes home with your puppy
Vet check, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, 30 days of complimentary Trupanion insurance, a seven-day well-puppy warranty, a two-year health guarantee, and a goody basket with starter essentials.

Activate insurance Optional · within 24 hours
Activate the complimentary Trupanion coverage using the details provided in your take-home package.
Book a vet visit Required · within 7 days
Schedule a licensed veterinary visit within seven days to protect the well-puppy warranty. It is wise to identify an emergency vet, too.
Register the microchip Optional
Use the HomeAgain or Fi Nano registration information in your take-home packet.
Spay or neuter Required
Follow your contract’s timing—typically around nine months—and have the procedure completed by a licensed veterinarian.
